Orbit8 personalized career assistant brand & app concept

Orbit8 is a startup on a mission to solve the ever-topical challenge of the massive career shift brought on by the recent tech development explosion. In an age where even seasoned professionals are challenged to rethink work after A.I. We need to take a serious look at how to guide the next generation.Orbit8 will focus on finding and nurturing your natural talent & personality to come up with a solid career path in this ever-changing landscape. The startup is working on covering all the bases of one’s journey - families, universities & organisations. Our project focus was on creating a brand around this to kick things off with clear communication along with an MVP app prototype for testing and gathering feedback from families.

Deliverables

Brand Identity: Developed a modern and captivating brand identity tailored to resonate with Orbit8's audience, emphasising the theme of space education.

Brand Guide:
Created comprehensive brand guidelines detailing logo usage, color palette, typography, and other visual elements to ensure brand consistency.

Presentation Templates: Designed customised presentation templates aligned with the Orbit8 brand identity, enabling professional and cohesive communication.

Figma Design System: Provided a Figma design system for the branded app UI, empowering Orbit8 to design and iterate on their app interface efficiently.

App Prototype: Produced a fully functional app prototype featuring essential user flows and features, facilitating rapid testing and iteration.

  • How we speak matters. We needed both a name for the organisation as well as some condensed ways to describe what challenge we are taking on. Oftentimes the question “What do you do?” is both the easiest and hardest for any startup Founder or employee. How would we enforce the brand with graphical means to meld written and visual language together?
  • What would be the best course of action to do this ASAP, yet have a refined enough result to actually garner attention to the product? How do the timelines integrate with crucial needs of the business?

Collaboration Begins

As we embarked on the journey, we spent time refining the practical parts of the concept. Some of the things considered:

Crafting a Modern Brand

The power of a brand comes from authenticity. After initial letdown of finding out some of the entrepreneurs' desired names had been taken, we realised it’s actually a tremendous opportunity in branding. After looking at the educational app space & the amazing people on the Orbit8 team, we realised the solution was in front of our eyes all along. One of the Founders has massive experience in the space industry and has already validated that both youth and parents are very curious and excited about the topic. It’s also very flexible - a spaceman discovering new planets makes for an exciting children’s book, as well as a scientific paper, documentary or symbol of man’s ultimate search of knowledge and excellence for parents, depending how you present the subject. Together with the team credentials it makes for a killer combo. And thus Orbit8 was born.

App Design Exploration

With the brand identity solidified, we provided Orbit8 with the assets and building blocks necessary to develop their app prototype further. Collaborating closely, we mapped out the essential user flows and features necessary for the app's MVP, ensuring a seamless user experience from signup to test completion, leaving them with a Figma design system & practically implemented look as a starting point to use it in action.

Iterative Design Process

Through an iterative design process, we and Orbit8 continuously refined and evolved the app's interface and functionality. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions allowed for seamless collaboration, ensuring that the final design aligned perfectly with Orbit8's vision.

Bringing the Vision to Life

The culmination of months of hard work resulted in a fresh brand identity and a fully functional app prototype. Orbit8 now had the tools they needed to be one step closer to gathering user feedback and pushing the user app functions and user flows further in the direction of the full vision.
